REPORTS TO: Sr. Product Manager

Through its market-leading financial management solution, VisitPay, an R1 Company, is using software, data, and analytics to transform how hospitals help patients manage their healthcare expenses. The company is growing, and we are seeking a Product Manager for our healthcare payment software application.

The right candidate will have a demonstrated track record overseeing the design and management of software-based solutions, preferably in a web-based environment. They should be familiar with and espouse an iterative, agile development and product release mindset, with a focus on quality and compliance. They should be a student of Product, constantly learning and re-learning product thinking and applying it through their decision-making and leadership.

This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to and execute against the product roadmap.  To do so they should be adept at gaining insight from a variety of inputs (both qualitative and quantitative), turning that insight into product direction, then working closely with architecture and engineering teams as the product is developed and iterated.  The candidate will also work with client-facing teams to ensure the appropriate level of support, education, and training is provided as the product matures.

This person will work cross-functionally with all internal stakeholders to include, software development, client implementations, product management, analytics, client management, and executive leadership.

  • Natural curiosity and ability/desire to learn quickly; product managers are often presented assertions as facts and need to be able to confidently challenge those assertions to discover the true problems to be solved.
  • Ability to gather requirements and needs from many internal and external sources, and synthesize those needs into coherent, actionable strategies.
  • Ability to facilitate detailed technical working sessions and take action through definition of resulting holistic strategies.
  • Ability to turn complex thoughts and insights into clear, written software requirements and documentation.
  • Understanding of data science principles and processes.
  • Ability to partner and engage with a cross-section of people at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.  Strong presentation skills.
  • Resilience: product managers fail because they try new things, but they own their mistakes, learn from them, and move on quickly.

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (technical focus is a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience as a product manager in software, including experience with enterprise software solutions.
  • Understanding of and experience with agile development processes and tools (Jira experience is a plus).
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders to understand customer needs, identify trends and feed those needs into product development.
  • Experience leading development teams.
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing and/or consumer finance is a plus.
  • Experience managing products in a B2B or B2B2C setting is a plus.

  • This position is based in our Boise, ID office or remote.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
